Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:
-Discuss an ethical dilemma regarding money and morals.
-Discuss transference-countertransference.
-Explain conflict of interest.
-Explain how to manage ethical issues.
-Name three conflicts of interest disclosure.
-Name five guidelines for advice-giving.
-Name three roles of promises.
-Name three factors of manipulation.
-List four questions regarding ethical referrals.
-Name four areas related to ethical and clinical considerations.
-Explain what is a multi-step program for diffusing marital conflict. 
-Explain what are some “rules for engagement” with resistant clients. 
-Explain what was a key issue PTSG group members had to face.
-Explain what is an easy way out when we reach the limits of what we know or can do, when we feel confused or blocked by a situation that is beyond our understanding or abilities.
-Name two of the most important and helpful things, consultants, and educators can do in this regard. To manage sexual feelings, some clinicians opt to discuss them in supervision, in consultation with colleagues, or in their own personal therapy.
